Getting started

  1. 1.1 Play a free classic Voxlight comes with fifteen public-domain books, already in sync. Press play before you import anything.

Your books

  1. 2.1 Add your own audiobook Import DRM-free audiobooks you own from Files or AirDrop: M4B, M4A, MP3, AAC, FLAC, WAV or AIFF, or a .zip of them.
  2. 2.2 Pair an ebook and sync it Add the EPUB to its audiobook, then sync the two so the text follows the narration.

Reading and listening

  1. 3.1 Read along with the narration In a synced book, the reader follows the narration word by word, and you can move between reading and listening without losing your place.
  2. 3.2 Follow along with Live Text Live Text shows the narration as large scrolling lines, like lyrics. Synced books use their alignment; other books are written out on your device while you watch.

Moments

  1. 4.1 Keep a Moment One tap while listening keeps the audio around that spot, a transcript made on your device, and room for your note.
  2. 4.2 Export Moments and your data Take your Moments and listening data anywhere: Markdown, JSON, Readwise CSV, or a full ZIP.
  3. 4.3 Read your listening history The History tab is one scrolling page of your listening: a weekly recap, recently played books, your Moments and the listening log.

Your servers

  1. 5.1 Use your own Plex server Sign in to your own Plex Media Server and stream or download the audiobooks you keep there.
  2. 5.2 Connect Audiobookshelf Point Voxlight at your own Audiobookshelf server and download from its catalog.

The player

  1. 6.1 Set up the player Speed, skip intervals, Smart Rewind After Pause, Voice Boost and even volume across books.
  2. 6.2 Use the sleep timer Fall asleep to a book without losing your place.
  3. 6.3 Lock screen, CarPlay, widgets and Siri Control Voxlight without opening it.

  1. 8.1 Sync Moments with iCloud Moments and listening history can follow you between your iPhone and iPad through your own iCloud.
  2. 8.2 Privacy and your data No account, no analytics. Transcription runs on your device; sync uses your own iCloud.
