Use your own Plex server

Sign in to your own Plex Media Server and stream or download the audiobooks you keep there.

Steps

  1. On Plex, keep audiobooks in a music-type library: author as artist, book as album, the audio files as tracks.
  2. In Voxlight, go to Settings → Connect Plex Server (or tap the server button at the top left of the Books tab).
  3. Sign in: Voxlight opens plex.tv, you approve the link, and it connects by itself.
  4. Your server's books appear in the Books tab next to your own. A cloud icon marks books that aren't downloaded.
  5. Open a book and choose Stream to listen now, or Download to keep it offline.

If it doesn't work

ProblemFix
Plex won't connect at home.Check iOS Settings → Apps → Voxlight → Local Network is on. A denied local network permission looks exactly like a dead server.
Plex won't connect away from home. The server needs Remote Access working in Plex. Reopening Voxlight tries again.
Streaming stops.Streaming needs the server reachable the whole time. Download the book for reliable listening.
